auto high beams acting up in cold weather?

Got a '23 CX-5 with under 12k miles. Recently, the auto high beams stopped working, green indicator was on, but no high beams unless I did it manually. Tried rebooting, cleaned the windshield sensor, no luck. It was below freezing, so maybe temp-related. Later that night, it worked fine. Not sure what caused it. I actually like this feature, so hoping it holds up. Anyone else seen this?

@5kyZoom3r in this case, you're probably right about the cold temps, electronics can be finicky. Since it's working now, monitor it for recurrence.
If it happens again, document everything (date, temp, video if possible) and take it to the dealer ASAP. Your generic scanner won't read those specific Mazda codes.
They can check for stored fault codes or TSBs. It's under warranty, so make them fix it!

It's possible that the cold weather played a part, or maybe even a bit of ice or frost that you couldn't easily see on the sensor itself. These systems rely on a camera or sensor in the windshield to see other lights and dim the beams, so anything blocking its view can cause issues. hopefully, it was just a one-off thing.

Yeah, mine did the same thing during a cold snap. The green light was on but there wasn't any action unless I flipped them myself. I feel like the sensor gets a little moody when the temperature drops or there's even the slightest film on the glass.
